Robert “Bob” Thomsen, 79, a 40-year resident of Rochester, died Thursday, March 21, 1991, in his home.

He was born March 18, 1912, in Tacoma, to Rasmus and Maria (Hoist) Thomsen.

He was married in Lacey to Ann Kramer who died in 1978.

Mr. Thomsen was employed as a logger by Tarden Thomsen Co. until his retirement about 25 years ago. He then farmed on Violet Prairie in Rochester until his death.

He enjoyed fishing, gardening and cattle raising. He was a member of St. Peter’s Church in Tenino.

Surviving Mr. Thomsen are a son, Richard D., Tenino; a daughter, Christine Cate, Kent; two brothers, John t and Jess, both of Olympia; a sister, Christina Fosjord, Tacoma; also five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

The funeral Mass for Mr. Thomsen will begin at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 27, in St Michael’s Catholic Church, Olympia. A graveside service will follow at 12:30 p.m. in Calvary Cemetery, Olympia. The Rev Michael Ryan will officiate.

The family suggests memorial donations may be made to Sound Home Care Hospice 3706 Griffin Lane S.E., Olympia 98503.

Arrangements are by Olympic Memorial Funeral Home in Tumwater.

Ann Thomsen, wife of Robert Thomsen of Route 1 (Box 563), Tenino, died in the Olympic hospital Saturday morning. Mrs. Thomsen was born in Lacey on August 23, 1915, the daughter of Albert and Mary #6B6356Coleman Kramer. She lived in Thurston County all her life and was married in the St. Martin’s College chapel in Lacey in 1938. Mrs. Thomsen was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Tenino. Besides her husband she is survived by a son, Richard, Tenino; a daughter, Mrs. Dan (Christine) Cate, Centralia; four brothers, George, Edward, Robert and Walter Kramer, all of Olympia; five sisters, Mrs. Helen Sharp, Tumwater, Mrs. Max (Gertrude) Guiberson and Mrs. Evelyn Hayes, both of Olympia, Sister Stelle-Marie, Anchorage, Alaska, and Katherine, living in California; and also two grandchildren. The funeral service will be held this Wednesday, starting at 10 a.m. at the Calvary Cemetery. The Rev. Robert Russell, of St. Peter’s Church, will officiate. The funeral arrangements are under the direction of Mills and Mills Funeral Service. The family suggests memorials may be made in the form of donations to the American Cancer Society or to the Heart Fund.
