Mas Donald Guiberson, 76, Olympia, died Friday, Oct 11, 1991, in his home.

He was born March 5, 1915, in Burley, Idaho, to Warner N and Grace E (Hardin) Guiberson. He was graduated from Olympia High School in 1933. He also was a graduated of the Radio Institute of California, Los Angeles, in 1935.

Mr. Guiberson was married to Gertrude Kramer on January 1, 1935, in Los Angeles.

He worked from 1938 to 1942, for the state of Washington, Capital Buildings and Grounds; 1942 to 1943, for Seattle-Tacoma shipyards; 1943 to 1950, state of Washington, Division of Forestry; 1950 to 1977 for the state of Washington, Department of Natural Resources. He retired in 1977.

He enjoyed amateur radio, fishing, and photography.

Mr. Guiberson was a member of the National Forestry Conservation Communications Association, serving as chairman in 1962, 1963, 1967 and 1972; National Land Mobile Communications Council, serving as president from 1969 to 1971.

He was hailed in the 1969 issue of The Totem as a pioneer in radio communication circles.

Surviving Mr. Guiberson, besides his wife, are a son Ronald M., St Petersburg, Fle, a daughter, Sany S Torstenson, Lacey; also five grandchildren.

A private graveside service was held in Olympic Memorial Gardens, Tumwater. The Rev Henry Rahn officiated.

The family suggests memorial donations be made to the American Lung Association of Washington.

Gertrude Guiberson, 83, a lifetime resident of Olympia, died after an extended illness Sunday, Feb 9, 1997, in Roo-Lan Healthcare Center, Lacey.

She was born Aug 30, 1913, in Olympia to Albert and Mary (Kollman) Kramer. She attended the Old Lacey Elementary School and Olympia Hiogh School.

She married Max D. Guiberson on Jan 1, 1935 in Palo Alto, Calif.

Mrs. Guiberson was a homemaker and raised and cared for her children.

She was a member of Gull Harbor Lutheran Church in Olympia, TOPS and a knitting club.

Mrs. Guiberson was an avid gardener. She enjoyed photography, sewing and knitting.

She is survived by a son, Ron, St. Petersburg, Fla.; a daughter, Sandra Tortenson; three brothers, Edward Kramer, Lacey, and Walter and Robert Kramer, both of Olympia; tweo sisters, Stella Marie, Seattle, and Evelyn Hayes, Olympia; five grandchildren; a great-grandchildren; and 12 nieces and nephews. She was preceeded in death by her husband, Max, in 1991; and a son, Donald.

A memorial service will begin at 11 am Saturday, Feb 15, in Gull Harbor Lutheran Church, Olympia. The Rev Hendrick Laur will officiate. Inurnment will be in Olympic Memorial Gardens, Tumwater.

The family suggests memorial donations be made to Gull Harbor Luthern Church.
